Makeshift Gym Equipment

Crossfit on Taylor Street had their gym doors open in the hot weather and their his- and-hers tractor tires out back. One can get a workout turning them end-over-end, or so I’ve been told.

Excavation on New Chippewa History Center

The Chippewa County Historical Society has contracted for a new building on Bridgewater Ave in the former Dairy Queen location next to Irvine Park. Construction was required to begin in Spring 2020 or the terms of the contract would have needed to be renegotiated.

A backhoe sits idle after breaking ground along Bridgewater Ave.

The new history center will be modeled after the Chippewa Lumber & Boom Company Mill which was instrumental in the growth of the area.

On Dec 25, 2019, renderings of the New Chippewa County Area History Center and a fundraising sign are on display.
