Chippewa Falls Main Street has sponsored the first of many historical photos planned for Downtown.


This morning, the block of Island Street between Spruce and Birch was blocked off while the Chippewa Falls Fire Department were in action at a local home. No flames or smoke were visible from a distance at 9:22 when the photo below was taken.

Update: According to WQOW, the fire affected apartments in a local house. The Fire Dept took the call at 4:25AM.

Senn Blacktop had a crew laying new blacktop at DJ’s Mart on Chippewa County Highway S.


The Chippewa County Historical Society has contracted for a new building on Bridgewater Ave in the former Dairy Queen location next to Irvine Park. Construction was required to begin in Spring 2020 or the terms of the contract would have needed to be renegotiated.

The new history center will be modeled after the Chippewa Lumber & Boom Company Mill which was instrumental in the growth of the area.

Stratus clouds hung over Chippewa Falls shortly after 5PM on June 2, 2020. Winds were strong and lightning was striking to the East. Heavy rain was falling around 5:20 but had moved off before 6PM leaving light drizzle and lighter skies into the evening.


The senior center is accepting metal donations at their East Grand Ave location which was once the 1st Ward School.
