Not many people think about the surveillance they are under on a daily basis, but like the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce, WQOW has posted a live feed of highway traffic on their website. Wisconsin DOT camera views are also available through the 511 traffic info site. The cameras that are identified are 65 & US53@US12, I-94@Hwy 63, I-94@Hwy 312, I-94@Cty HH, I-94@US 53, I-94@Wis 29, I-94@US 12, I-94@US 10, I-94@US65 & US53@US12
The thumbnail on WQOW’s site appears to be from an elevated camera of North Bridge and Columbia Streets looking Southwest from BMO Harris Bank.

Food trucks are ascendant in 2020 after clearing some legal hurdles in the last few years. Venues such as the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Leinie Lodge, River Bend Winery, Autumn Harvest Winery, and the CVCA Heyde Center for the Arts all had regular food trucks this summer. This photo gallery features a few that I spotted in the wild. Many more can be found at Volume One’s Listing. For current events, check out Food Truck Sunday at Riverbend Winery featuring the Magnolia Cafe from 11-4:30 and the Fair Food Shindig and Car Show on September 10-13 at the Fairgrounds.

Bohemian Ovens was selling Kolaches, a sort of filled Czech pastry, out of the back of a pickup on Friday night at the Leinie Lodge on East Elm Street.

A large yellow moon rose in the Southeast on Friday night. The waning moon was still close to full.

After months of work, a new traffic circle opened near the Kalk-Fattu Woods of Irvine Park. Hwy Q Northbound is currently closed until the bridge is replaced.

Off of Business 29, River Bend Winery was still a popular place on a warm Saturday in September. Jerk Chicken and other foods were offered by Island Vibe food truck.

The Labor Day Weekend may be the last hurrah for thrift sales this season. They taper off quickly in the fall and winter generally brings only the occasional estate sale or auction.
