Limited Choices at Local Vending Machines
2020 was the year of take-out. But getting a quick snack without braving the crowds might mean limited choices at vending machines which mostly offer highly processed, high-sugar snacks. More frustrating are unplugged or malfunctioning machines.

Mix-and-Match Curbside Furniture

What is a college rental without mismatched furniture? This floral chair on Jefferson and plaid sofa across town on Front Street would fit the bill. Just need Dad’s pickup truck to complete the transaction.

Lights on at Christmas Village
The Christmas Village and other downtown Holiday lights have come online this Thanksgiving. There is plenty of time to take them in by car or on foot this season.

Photo Wrap on Bay and Grand
A new historic photo wrap has been added to many others around downtown Chippewa Falls. It is on the corner near Family Fare and shows the historic Chippewa Valley Auto Company building at 26 W Grand Ave.

Built in 1924, the Chippewa Valley Auto Company building may be better known to area residents as Montgomery Ward’s. MGM Liquor moved into the Bay Street side and was later renamed B&G for the intersection. The Legacy Community Center along with Agnes’ Table moved to the Grand Ave side recently in the former home of Lindsay’s on Grand and The Cabin restaurants.

Northside Notes: Nov. 17, 2020

I see activity around Chippewa on my daily drive across town and even in November there are people out working.

Like a construction crew on Chippewa Street, a roofing crew on Island Street and this rather cold-looking woman in front of Notre Dame.

The church also had a Drive-Through for Saint Francesca Resource Center today and has an event listed on their bulletin called Soup-A-Day Driveaway for Wednesday Nov. 18 from 4-6:30.
