For what I believe is the first time, the Clean Sweep event for household waste took place on a weekday afternoon in June instead of a weekend morning in spring or fall.


Men were working at the Northwestern Bank parking lot on Central Street today.

On the second day of scattered storms, all the weather seemed to come at once. From dark clouds to heavy downpour to light rain, all in about half an hour. It was fast-moving to be sure.



Crossfit on Taylor Street had their gym doors open in the hot weather and their his- and-hers tractor tires out back. One can get a workout turning them end-over-end, or so I’ve been told.

The Annual City Wide Thrift Sales are back and will continue through the weekend.

The stretch of Linden Street between Maple Street and Woodward Ave reopened Tuesday. The improvements also included a new block of sidewalk on the North Side.


Chippewa Falls Main Street has sponsored the first of many historical photos planned for Downtown.


This morning, the block of Island Street between Spruce and Birch was blocked off while the Chippewa Falls Fire Department were in action at a local home. No flames or smoke were visible from a distance at 9:22 when the photo below was taken.

Update: According to WQOW, the fire affected apartments in a local house. The Fire Dept took the call at 4:25AM.
