Freight Train Crosses Omaha Bridge

A train crosses the historic Omaha bridge.

It is a rare site to spot a train on the old Omaha Bridge. This one could be heard coming from the flats before crossing to the South Side and turning to the West.

The bridge near the South Side Industrial Park.

The South Side of the bridge emerges near the place where Jeffers Street turns northeast to Technology Way. The northernmost span was destroyed by fire in 1993 and rebuilt without the upper trusses.

Blacktop Patched on Main and Greenville

Some of the potholes have been filled on Greenville and Main Streets on the South Side of Chippewa Falls. Interestingly, the historic stretch of concrete on Greenville near Linden Street still appears very much like it did when it was part of the Yellowstone Trail about 100 years ago. Based on recent roadscaping, it also doesn’t appear that Greenville will connect to Park Avenue any longer.
